A Rocket To The Moon Talks NEW MUSIC, Video Gaming, ICP, and more!

Anxiously awaiting new music from A Rocket To The Moon? Well, luckily you won't have to wait much longer! A Rocket to The Moon just wrapped up the Time Travel tour - but the band has never been one for laziness! Once 2011 completes, A Rocket To The Moon will head off to the studio hopefully in January 2012 to begin recording. A Rocket To The Moon's spirits are running high, as they're more than excited to embark on the journey 2012 holds for them. Read on for the full interview!

**You just wrapped up  the Time Travel Tour alongside Never Shout Never, the Plain White T’s. andmore. Since it’s been completed for quite a while now, what was your favorite stop of the entire tour and how was the tour overall?
I'd say its one of the more fun tours that we had been on in a bit. Everyone on the tour was so great and I made a lot of new friends. I think my favorite show was in Chicago. Everything seemed to go right that night, the fans there are always so great to us, and we had a really fun dance party on the bus after the show. I love that city. Maybe it's'cause I was born there, who knows haha.

**Via Facebook, I noticed that you guys actually got tattoos on this tour! Care to explain what tattoos you guys got? Was it spur of the moment or were you all planning the tattoos out for a while now?
Yeah, everyone got a lot of work done by our good friend Craig Beasley who is based out of Tallahassee, Florida. I was the last to get something done but it is a big one. It is a scene of a desolate desert with vultures and bones and mountains, etc. and surrounding it are the words "If I am lost it’s only for a little while." It is a line from a Band Of Horses song called "Monsters" and I have always wanted that line. As far as the whole idea of the tattoo, I kind of just thought up some things spur of the moment based off another idea I had for something else. It covers most of my left forearm. It’s a doozie.

**Well, from what I saw you on Twitter - you dressed up as the insane clown posse for Halloween.Great idea! Think we’ll see you sharing the stage with ICP someday soon? Ha. Who came up with the idea for the ICP costumes?
Ha I doubt that well be sharing the stage with them ever, but we did have the chance to catch one of their shows in Norfolk, Virginia on a day off. It was wild. I had a really good time but I'd say I'm still a little confused as to what happened there haha. I got soaked with Faygo and was in the pit with Dylan, our merch guy, and Justin and we just had a blast. Our bus was parked next to theirs at a nearby hotel and we got to meet some of their crew and Violent J. They were all very nice to us, despite what you may think when you think of wicked clowns.

**It seems that your fans really are dedicated and supportive; some even brought you hand drawn artwork of A Rocket To The Moon. It must be incredible to have such a support system. What’s it like knowing you have such an incredibly supportive fanbase behind you?
We have the most incredible fans and were all so grateful for their support. If it weren't for any of them, we would not be able to sustain our career as musicians and would be forced to give up on our dreams so really, they are keeping us doing what we truly love to do. It is the best feeling in the world to have a relationship with our fans where we can give them music that hopefully makes them happy and makes them feel something positive and they give back the support and feedback that makes us feel the exact same way.

**Rumor has it that on this tour there has been a lot of gaming. Be honest, who is the best gamer ofthe band and who is the worst?
I suppose there was a lot of gaming but I wouldn't really know cause I don’t ever really game haha. I occasionally will get my ass kicked in Fifa. But Andrew plays a lot of Fifa and Nick loves zombie games, so I guess they are the two best. That leaves Justin and me to take up the title as the worst.

**On Facebook, you’re a couple of likes shy of hitting 500,000 in total. Are you planning on doing anything extra-special for the fans once you hit 500,000? That’s a pretty huge landmark for a band.
Yeah, its pretty crazy we are only 2000 some odd likes away. That makes me very happy to know there are that many people on facebook that care about us. I wonder if Mark Zuckerburg is one of them haha. I don’t know what we will do at 500,000, maybe we should start brainstorming that haha.

**After this tour, you won’t be heading out on the road (at this point) until February 2012, where you’ll be touring internationally. Are you ready to take a break or do you miss the road when you’re not touring?
It's a strange feeling being home. I love it, the downtime, the hanging with family and friends, its all great. But I get very stir crazy and don’t know what to do with myself after a while. On tour, there are lots of times you just want to be home and then when I am at home, there are a lot of times i just want to be on tour. It’s a tug of war of emotion.

**Time for some less serious questions! If you could trade places with one of your bandmates for a day, who would it be and why?
Hmm this is always tough because I hate everyone else in the band... KIDDING. Um I'll say Nick because I would steal a ton of his clothes. He seriously has a room at his house dedicated to his wardrobe haha. It’s the biggest walk in closet I have ever seen.

**If you could invent any Iphone app imaginable, what would it be and why?
I think it would harness the power that Mel Gibson has in that movie What Women Want and it would tell me what any given woman in a 500 yard radius wanted, using Google Maps of course. Just like Mel, I would know all the secrets of women. This is getting creepy and Mel Gibson is crazy...

**You’re stuck on a deserted island and can only bring one of your bandmates and one album to listen to while on the island. Which bandmate do you bring and what album do you bring to listen to?
Well I think at the moment I would bring a Wilco record, probably Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and I would bring Justin cause he is a human jukebox and I wouldn’t have to worry about only having one record on the island. He could play me whatever I wanted.

**As far as touring, all you have scheduled is to finish up The Time Travel tour this year. What about music? Are you working on anything new at the moment?
We have been writing for the past year and will be jumping in the studio hopefully January 2012. I am thrilled to finally be able to record new songs and get back in the process of making another record. It’s a very exciting time for us right now. We're all looking forward to the future and where everything will go from here.

**Thanks for taking the time out to do this! Do you have anything you would like to say to the fans?
Have an excellent holiday, no matter what you celebrate, and be happy. Thanks!
